Since 1927

Barre Mian Sweets

A century-old legacy of traditional mithai, craftsmanship, and family values passed through generations.

Barre Mian historical family

Our Heritage Story

Our roots trace back to Meerut, India, where our family's passion for traditional sweets first began. In 1927, Zahoor Ahmed migrated to Gujrat, bringing with him the art of authentic mithai and pure craftsmanship.

Later, the family moved to Jhelum, where this journey of taste and tradition continued.

After the passing of Zahoor Ahmed, lovingly known as Barre Mian, his son Abdul Aziz honoured his father's legacy by establishing Barre Mian Halwai in 1927.

With dedication, honesty, and unmatched quality, the name quickly became trusted across Jhelum.

Later, Abdul Aziz's sons, Munir Sahib and Abdul Qadir Sahib, proudly carried this family tradition forward. In 1985, the name was modernized to Barre Mian Sweets, while preserving its original taste and values.

From premium mithai to Halwa Puri, Samosas, Chaats, Fruit Chaat, Ice Cream and more, Barre Mian became a household name.

In 2018, we introduced BMF – Barre Mian Foods, serving quality fast food with the same trusted standards.

Today, we proudly serve through our four branches in Jhelum, including our newest Cantt Branch, opened on 28th Ramadan 2026.

Now led by the 4th generation, we continue blending heritage with modern standards while preserving the taste loved for more than a century.
